Visual Storytelling
This collection showcases my ability to tell meaningful stories through video. From cinematic vlogs to short-form documentaries, my visual work centers real moments, real people, and emotional clarity—using imagery, pacing, and sound to create connection and convey story with intention.
01
Crossing a Bridge
This short documentary reflects my passion for humanistic storytelling that inspires. I researched, interviewed, filmed, and edited Beyond Blindness, capturing Raven Joiner’s journey through illness, motherhood, and vision loss to show how personal hardship can become purpose and support for others.
02
Becoming Blind
This 60-second documentary showcases my ability to tell a complete, emotionally grounded story within a tight time frame. I interviewed Raven Joiner, shot and edited the film, and intentionally layered music to deepen the emotional connection. Through her personal account of losing her sight due to the mismanagement of Type 1 diabetes—compounded by COVID-19 and underlying health conditions—the film centers her lived experience while honoring her voice. This project reflects my passion for human-centered storytelling that informs, inspires, and creates impact in just one minute.
03
Cozy Cat
I was tasked with creating a video that conveyed a cozy, inviting mood. For this project, I researched visual and emotional elements that would resonate with the audience and intentionally shaped the atmosphere. I selected audio that complemented the pacing of the video, then shot and edited the piece to maintain a relaxed, vlog-style “day in the life” feel. The cat was an intentional subject choice, used to reinforce warmth, comfort, and the overall cozy aesthetic.

Urban Landscapes
Urban Landscapes is a photographic series in which I document the impact of gentrification on a historically Black neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina—a place I once called home. As both a photojournalist and visual storyteller, I use my lens to research, observe, and preserve moments of change, capturing how redevelopment reshapes not just buildings, but identity, memory, and community. This work reflects my commitment to human-centered storytelling that honors lived experience, elevates overlooked narratives, and records what progress often leaves behind.
